Matt Simons // Better Tomorrow

Better Tomorrow sees Matt collaborate with the Swedish virtuoso producer Hampus Lidvall (Zara Larsson, Icona Pop, Sigala), taking his music in an exciting new direction whilst retaining the essence of his celebrated songwriting. Addressing the anxiety that he experienced when he was younger, the song perfectly encapsulates the anxious mood we all live in right now in 2020, whilst offering reassurance that these panic attacks are only temporary.

"Around the age of 18, I had my first panic attack and went to the emergency room because I thought I was going to die. It’s an extremely lonely and helpless feeling when our brains turn on us and create the feeling of imminent danger when there really isn’t any there. I hope the song Better Tomorrow song can bring some comfort to those who also struggle with anxiety and mental health, especially during these unprecedented times".

The video for Better Tomorrow was directed by VMA nominated Mercedes Bryce Morgan and was shot in LA under strict regulation due to COVID 19. With choreographed dancers representing the voices in Matt’s head that play tricks with his mind, the video perfectly illustrates the themes in the song with Matt finally realizing that all is not as it seems in his head.
